SNAP-ON WELCOMES 15,000TH ATTENDEE TO ITS HIGHLY SUCCESSFUL TECHED SEMINARS

21 May 2009: Snap-on, brand leaders in diagnostic tools, software and information for the automotive industry, has announced the attendance of the 15,000th paying attendee at one of its highly successful TechEd seminars.

Chris Wileman, a technician at Castle Garage in Ashby-de-la-Zouch attended a recent Snap-on CANbus seminar held at Donington Park, in Derbyshire. He is pictured receiving a limited edition Snap-on Racing Jacket to celebrate the occasion from Gary Lovett, Snap-on’s Diagnostic Product Specialist for the North East.

Started in 2006, Snap-on’s TechEd seminars have been achieving ever increasing popularity among UK technicians. The first in the series of TechEd seminars focussed on ‘Diagnosing Intermittent Faults’, while the second covered ‘Advanced Diagnostics Information’. Delivered by Snap-on’s specially appointed team of Diagnostic Product Specialists (DPSs) these have proved extremely attractive to technicians to the extent that strong demand built up so that a third and fourth series – ‘Diesel’ and ‘CANbus’ – have recently been introduced.

Open to all technicians, not just those using Snap-on branded equipment, Snap-on’s DPSs have been delivering these informative and educational seminars - designed to appeal to every level of technician from all workshop types - at 55 locations around the UK. They are conducted at a nominal charge of £40 - which includes a £20 Snap-on Tools voucher, refreshments and copies of the seminar notes and hand-outs. Each presentation lasts for approximately 2 hours.

“In the fast moving world of vehicle diagnostics time is precious and keeping up to date with diagnostic techniques and technology can be difficult for the modern technician,” explains Helen Taylor, UK Marketing Manager for Snap-on Diagnostics. “At Snap-on we have always been committed to providing the best quality products, information and training for the modern technician and these third and fourth in our series of TechEd seminars have been specifically based upon input gathered from attendees at earlier TechEd Seminars.”

Chris Wileman takes up the story: “I am the diagnostics specialist at Castle Garage in Ashby and actually use a Snap-on SOLUS on a day-to-day basis. I have been to other Snap-on TechEd seminars in the past as they are the ideal opportunity to get myself up-to-date on the very latest technology. I found the CANbus seminar at Donington Park to be particularly valuable and learned a lot of new information on this important subject which I can now put to good use on a daily basis. Being given a Snap-on jacket for being the 15,000th attendee at these seminars was an added bonus.”

More details about Snap-on TechEd seminars can be obtained from your local Snap-on Dealer or by calling Snap-on 0845 6066512

Editor’s Note: Snap-on offers four levels of hand-held diagnostic equipment: the impressive recently introduced top-of-the-range VERUS, the MODIS diagnostic platform and information system; the recently introduced SOLUS PRO and ETHOS, its entry level product to diagnostics, the forerunner of which has already achieved sales of over 350,000 worldwide.

The key to the success of the Snap-on offering is the ability to keep the product always up to date through the introduction of new software downloads, delivered via ScanBay direct from our Snap-on Franchisee vans. These software upgrade bundles enable Snap-on customers to be kept right at the cutting edge of vehicle diagnostics at all times.
