6 November 2008: Snap-on Tools, brand leader in tools, tool storage and diagnostic equipment for the automotive market, has announced the introduction of its latest most advanced inspection device –
the BK5500 Visual Inspection Scope.
This time-saving inspection tool is extremely simple to use and comes with a two year warranty. It is ideal for a wide variety of automotive uses – engine work, under-dash work, suspension and transmission, air conditioning and body cavity panel inspection, for example.
It offers a 720x480 imager resolution, has a 2.4” colour LCD - which allows far superior viewing when compared with eyepiece borescopes - and has been designed to enable it to get into much tighter spaces. Unlike some competitive equivalent models, it has a fully waterproof 8mm camera head and cable, as well as being completely encased in rubber overmould for added durability and better grip. It also comes with a stand and hook for hands-free operation and the connector itself is of an advanced proprietary Snap-on design. Accessories included with the BK 5500 are a magnet and 90° mirror attachment. The BK5500 can also be connected to compatible video cameras or laptop PCs.
