| 9 October 2008: Snap-on Tools, brand leader in tools, tool storage and diagnostic equipment for the automotive market, was very pleased to support the recent Scania (Great Britain) Limited inaugural annual Apprentice of the Year competition.
The specialist heavy vehicles manufacturer held the prestigious competition at its national training centre in Loughborough where 12 of its top apprentices were put through their paces with a series of tasks - appropriate to their current level of training - together with a series of technical questions all under the auspices of Skillnet Limited.
Each of the three winners received the prize of Snap-on’s latest in torque wrenches – the revolutionary TechAngle which, with its exclusive patented technology, is designed to help the user save time while at the same time increasing accuracy, quality and performance.
Terry Barcham, European Managing Director of Snap-on Tools, is pictured (second left) congratulating the all three winners, William Anderson 3rd year apprentice of the year (second right) together with the 2nd year apprentice winner Kieran Ramsay (left) and 1st year apprentice of the year Adam Gell.
“We have a very close working relationship with Scania going back many years,” says Terry Barcham. “As a Company, Snap-on Tools is also very involved in training initiatives across the UK including strong support of the IMI’s ATA consumer initiative launched at the recent British International Motor Show. I was therefore very impressed by the enormous level of skill and enthusiasm shown by all the participants during the Scania Apprentice of the Year competition.”
