| 10 September 2009: Snap-on Tools, UK market leader in tools, tool storage and workshop equipment for the automotive aftermarket, has announced that - to commemorate the sale of the 5,000th of its SOLUS PRO hand-held diagnostic tool - it has introduced a special celebratory carbon fibre look Edition
Launched in May 2008, the SOLUS PRO is the second generation of the mid-range model of Snap-on’s best selling ‘family’ of hand-held diagnostic tools. It was specifically designed to provide the technician with an even faster performance and more diagnostic data. It has proved extremely attractive to UK technicians as proved by sales exceeding the 5,000 mark.
The new Carbon Edition SOLUS PRO comes with an extremely attractive design (pictured) – intended to emulate the look of carbon fibre – but is available at exactly the same price as the original model. It offers full application coverage of 21 of the most popular vehicle manufacturers. It has full EOBD coverage of all makes – 100% petrol engine models from 2001 and 100% diesel engine models from 2004.
It incorporates Troubleshooter Software, has a 16 pin adapter – all keys – and offers ‘no time-out’ on the software. It comes with full graphing and ‘movie’ play-back as well as free ShopStream Connect software.
Continued and committed software development ensures that Snap-on customers’ diagnostic tools remain consistently powerful and productive in the workplace. The Carbon Edition SOLUS PRO therefore includes Snap-on’s latest 9.4 software download. Future software updates can then be delivered in a matter of minutes direct from the Snap-on franchisee vans via ScanBay, the unique and simple delivery method introduced four years ago.
"Diagnostics is the fastest-moving and most complex area of the automotive aftermarket and we want to ensure that all our customers not only have access to the world’s most sophisticated hand-held diagnostic equipment, but also to realise how quick and easy they are to use," says Terry Barcham, Snap-on Tools European Managing Director. "The very fact that we have sold 5,000 of our SOLUS PRO diagnostic tools in 18 months is further proof of our ability to predict market trends. This new Carbon Edition has been designed to emulate the look of carbon fibre and to give the SOLUS PRO an even more aesthetically pleasing design which we are certain will create even more customer demand."
